Public Entry - One Last Time. [Sep. 29th, 2005|09:34 am]

[mood |nervousnervous]

So. This is probably my last day online. So I might as well make this post public.

Yesterday was fucking nuts.

Cent' stayed up all night last night, he didn't want to go to bed because he was going to go look at a basement apartment at 6 in the morning today. Then he's going to go look at other places that were on the list we got from the Housing Help group with his friend (I would have gone with him, but I have to go back up to Tappscot & Finch, basically the other end of the f'ing city to drop off a blank check at the Workfare office).

The first apartment we saw yesterday wasn't bad. Tiny bit on the small side, but not as small as I was expecting. It was in a low-rise apartment building that was post-WW2 construction... so yeah, OLD. Looked like shit on the outside, and the common hallways too, but the apartment itself wasn't bad. Real pine flooring throughout, lanolium in the tiny kitchen(with a small west-facing window), smallish fridge, small stove with a range, small three piece bathroom (with a small west-facing window), okay-sized bedroom(with a fair sized South-facing window), and the livingroom/diningroom big enough for my bed and the living space(with a huge south-facing window). Lots, and lots of light. Corner unit, thus the windows on two sides. Only neighbours would be below us, and behind.

The neighbourhood wasn't bad. Our old haunt of a comic book store turns out to be litterally across the street. It's easy as hell to get to and from via several bus routes, there are at least four 'convience' stores across and along the street, as well as a coin laundry mat, a pharmacy, and several used furnature stores. Not sure how close the nearest grocery or dollar store is though... probably something I'd ask about if we end up moving there for sure. I guess it's $700 a month there because of how close it is to everything... because it's definately not because it's large or anything. It doesn't even have a balcony.

So anyway, I don't yet have a new address or anything... nothing's confirmed either way. The movers are coming Saturday evening and so we have to have a place to go by then or else we'll have to get the movers to put all our stuff in storage.

Kinda funny that neither of my parents are even giving us any money to do any of this running around...

All I can say is thank the powers that be for friends and kind strangers on the intenet! Without you people, both me and my bro' would be up shit's creek without a paddle. Many hugs and <3's to you all.

Take care of yourselves, stay safe. Hopefully one day soon I'll be able to get back online and catch up with you all, and start putting art online again. :P

Sounds decent. If you can't get out of the city, I don't know that the price would drop much. Good luck with it. You get a job yet? The luck can't be all bad all the time.
